Organic farming school opens at PAU

LUDHIANA: Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has established the School of Organic Farming, under the College of Agriculture, PAU.

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has established the School of Organic Farming, under the College of Agriculture, PAU.

RS Sidhu, Registrar, said the new school aimed at carrying out multidisciplinary research, training and extension for the development and dissemination of scientific knowledge on the organic and integrated agriculture. It aimed to develop and disseminate the integrated nutrient management (INM) and integrated pest management (IPM) strategies for the production of safe food and for the improvement of natural resources, he said.

Dr SS Kukal, Dean, College of Agriculture, PAU, has assumed the charge of the Director, School of Organic Farming.
