Prize distribution ceremony

Ludhiana: The annual prize distribution ceremony was held at Garden Valley International School today.



Ludhiana: The annual prize distribution ceremony was held at Garden Valley International School today. Students were awarded with the scholarship prizes of Rs 2,100, Rs 1,500 and Rs 1000 by Sarv Jan Sewa Society. Principal Dr Harpreet Kaur encouraged the students to do well in academics. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

Yoga activity conducted

Sant Ishar Singh Ji Memorial Public School, Karamsar Rara Sahib, organised a yoga activity for the students of Class IV to VIII. Sanjeev Tyagi, director at Everest Yoga Institute and Everest Sports Academy, along with Kavita Tyagi and three members came from Ludhiana to demonstrate yoga postures to the students. The principal of the school thanked the guests. He said yoga was an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition to the world. 

Indoor picnic organised

An indoor picnic was organised on the campus of BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point. The students of Class I to IV enjoyed various rides. The principal, Neeru Kaura, motivated the students to participate regularly in indoor and outdoor games.

World Book Day celebrations

GMT Public School, Jalandhar bypass, celebrated World Book Day today. A special assembly marked the event. Various activities such as story writing, cartoon-making and poetry competition were organised for the students. Principal Jasbir Kaur Bal spoke on the importance of books in children’s lives. An English literary display was also organised in which the students created a world of literary personalities. Students took a pledge take up the practice of reading more.

Green Land Convent School

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, marked World Book Day with the aim to encourage children to explore the pleasures of reading. Fun-filled activities such as bookmark making and slogan writing competition was organised for Classes IV-X. Various writing activities were also organised to promote the love of reading not only for pleasure but also for a purpose. Principal Dr Jyoti Sachdev Pujara motivated the students to read more and said reading was an investment with great returns.

Founder’s day celebrations

Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School, Kitchlu Nagar, celebrated foundation day by organizing a havan on the campus. Striving for practical learning and giving the students a chance to build closer bonds with their school, the students of pre-primary wing were briefed about the working of the school. Various activities were also organised later in the day to mark World Book Day.  

ISA activity held

DAV, Pakhowal Road, organised its annual ISA activity for Class III- V. A rangoli-making competition was organised in which around 400 students participated. Harvest festival of China, Russia, the UK, Nepal, India and Shi Lanka was the theme of the competition. Class V-F was declared the winner, while Class V- B and C stood second, and Class V- A, D and E stood third.

ATL Community Day celebrations

DRV DAV Public School, Phillaur, celebrated ATL Community Day today. Students of Senior Secondary School (Boys) and Senior Secondary School (Girls) were invited to impart technical skills. Professor Manikant Rai, ATL mentor of change and research scholar at IIITMK, guided the students about the use of various tools of ATL Lab. TNS
