Contrary to the claims of the Congress of most of the elected panchayat members being affiliated to the party, SAD Halka in-charge Darbara Singh Guru claimed that around 30 new panchayats in the Khamano area are supported by the SAD.

He told the media that the SAD-supported candidates had performed well in the area.

Guru claimed that out of 70 villages in the area, 30 had been won by SAD candidates or supporters.
