Strong rooms for counting set up at 13 institutes

For the upcoming Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad elections, 13 strong rooms have been set up in the district, which has 13 blocks.

For the Dehlon block, the strong room has been set up at Malwa Khalsa School, Civil Lines, Ludhiana. The strong room for the Doraha block is at Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, while the strong room for Jagraon has been set up at Lala Lajpat Rai (DAV College), Jagraon.

For the Khanna block, the strong room has been set up at AS Modern Senior Secondary School, Malerkotla Road, Khanna. A strong room has been set up at the Government College for Boys for the Ludhiana -1 block while the strong room for the Ludhiana-2 block has been set up at the Khalsa College for Women in Ghumar Mandi, Ludhiana.

In the Macchiwara block, the strong room has been set up at SSD Government Senior Secondary School for Boys in Machhiwara. The strong room for the Maloudh block is at Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Maloudh.

A strong room has been established at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana, for the Pakhowal block while the room for the Raikot block is at SGGSS School of Gondwal.

The strong room for the Samrala block has been established at the ITI-Samrala. Besides, strong rooms have been prepared at Guru Arjan Dev Polytechnic College Hamran Road for the Sidhwan Bet block and Guru Teg Bahadur National College Dakha for Sudhar Block.

After elections, the ballot boxes will be shifted to the strong rooms. The counting centres will also be set up at the same institutes. There are 236 zones for Panchayat Samiti and 25 zones of Zila Parishad in the district.
