Ludhiana: Sat Paul Mittal School on Thursday announced the start of the United Nations Replica 2017 Punjab Edition on its premises.



Ludhiana: Sat Paul Mittal School on Thursday announced the start of the United Nations Replica 2017 Punjab Edition on its premises. This first of its kind initiative by the Sat Paul Mittal School is to provide a global platform for students to promote understanding of diplomacy and enhance debating skills among them. A two-day programme (August 10 -12) was inaugurated by Dominic Asquith, British High Commissioner to India in the presence of Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Chairman, Governing Council, Sat Paul Mittal School, the chief mentor of UN Replica Punjab 2017.

Blue Day celebrated

Blue Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Ryan International School. Children were dressed up in blue attire and recognition of blue colour was done with the help of various objects. Activities such as fish painting with the help of ear bud was done in Montessori- I, Montessori-II made paper boats and Montessori-III made dinosaurs with the help of blue sheet.

Janmashtami celebrated

Blossoms Convent School celebrated Krishna Janamashtmi. The tiny tots of LKG were dressed  up on the theme of Lord Krishna Janamashtmi at Blossoms Convent School, Sidhwan Bet Road, Jagraon. On this occasion, the students wore the dresses of Krishna, Meera and Radha. Among these students, Guruansh Singh, Prabhreet Kaur bagged I position, where as Ekam Singh, Vinnayman Singh got II position. Rashman Samra also stood third in the competition.

Green Earth campaign

A tree plantation drive was organised at Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School Khanna. Sanjeev Dhamija, a member of Municipal Council, Hanna, was the Chief Guest while Rev Fr Martin Sadiq was the Guest of Honour. Around 100 students of the school planted 300 saplings and pledged to pay meticulous attention towards their nurture, protection and growth.

Teej celebrations held

The festival of Teej was celebrated with great pomp and show by the tiny tots of Kindergarten Wing of Guru Nanak Public School. The entire wing was tastefully decorated with flowers, , ribbons and bangles.  Children also relished traditional food such as kheer and 'malpuras'. Music and dance completed the celebrations of the tiny tots.

Visit to Mother Teresa home

Student School council members of Ryan International School went to the Mother Teresa home near Jalandhar bypass. The students interacted with the children and sang, worship and patriotic songs with them. They distributed eatables and toys among the children. Ryanites also conducted a craft activity and quiz for the children of the orphanage.

English quiz competition

An inter-house English quiz competition for the students of classes VI onwards to increase command of the English language learning where students from each house participated with sincere and intense conviction. In this quiz eight rounds were framed including multiple choice questions, true or false and audio-visual based on English grammar, English literature and movieswhich engaged the students' attention completely for one hour.
