Ludhiana, July 12
An undertrial lodged in the Central Jail has accused a jail guard of thrashing him. When the Jail Department did not act on his complaint, he moved court through his brother. The court has asked the department to get the victim examined at Civil Hospital.
Sanjiv Sood was lodged in the jail on June 22 in a drug case registered at Doraha.
Superintendent of Jail Shamsher Singh said on the night of July 8, the undertrial had a scuffle with other jail inmates, namely Pitbull and Akhtar. When the jail guard noticed them scuffle, he immediately intervened and separated both parties.
