Indian national killed in Kabul terror attack

NEW DELHI: India has condemned the latest brutal terror attack that shook Kabul on Monday night. An Indian national was among the four killed when a bomb laden truck exploded near a heavily fortified Green Village compound in the capital city of Afghanistan.

India has condemned the latest brutal terror attack that shook Kabul on Monday night. An Indian national was among the four killed when a bomb laden truck exploded near a heavily fortified Green Village compound in the capital city of Afghanistan.

Taliban today claimed responsibility for the attack which injured at least 90, including women and children. 

“India strongly condemns the horrific terror attack in Kabul yesterday in which an Indian national and many others lost their lives. We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims of this cowardly attack and wish early recovery to the injured,” said the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) 

While the identity of the Indian national has not been disclosed, sources said that the woman, working in an organisation involved with the civil society sector, died when the roof her house in the attack area collapsed following impact of the strong blast. The Indian Embassy in Kabul is completing formalities necessary for repatriation of the mortal remains of the Indian national. 

“India calls for the perpetrators of this heinous attack and those who provide them shelter to be brought to justice expeditiously,” added the MEA in its statement.
