Offered to quit as CM, but party rejected: Mamata Banerjee

KOLKATA: Two days after suffering major setbacks in Lok Sabha polls, Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said she had offered to quit as CM in the TMC internal meeting but the party rejected.

Two days after suffering major setbacks in Lok Sabha polls, Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said she had offered to quit as CM in the TMC internal meeting but the party rejected. 

“May be I will continue as CM,” she told mediapersons.

On Lok Sabha poll results, Mamata said the BJP created emergency-like situation to win elections in West Bengal.
