In a breather to former finance minister P Chidambaram’s wife Nalini, the Madras High Court on Saturday granted her interim protection from arrest by the CBI in the Saradha chit fund case till she obtains regular anticipatory bail from a jurisdictional court in West Bengal.
Justice GK Illanthiraiyan passed the interim order at a special sitting to hear her anticipatory bail plea. The judge granted four-week interim bail and directed her to surrender before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Egmore, and furnish sureties and approach the jurisdictional court for regular anticipatory bail. — PTI
