New Delhi, February 26
The Supreme Court today refused to entertain a PIL by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy for construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya, but allowed him to intervene in the appeals over the title suit of the site.
A Bench converted the PIL into an intervention application and sent it to the SC Bench hearing the title suit case. In a 2-1 split verdict on September 30, 2010, the Allahabad High Court had ruled that the central dome of the demolished Babri Masjid was the birthplace of Lord Rama. — TNS
