2 smugglers arrested with 1-kg heroin

Ferozepur: Sleuths of the Counter Intelligence (CI) wing of the Punjab Police nabbed two drug smugglers, Shinderpal Singh of Kaluwala village and Rajan Singh of Kilcha village. About 1 kg of heroin was recovered from their possession. Narinder Pal Singh Sidhu, AIG (Counter Intelligence), said the CI wing had received specific inputs that Shinderpal and Rajan were in touch with the Pakistani smugglers and were supplying drugs to the Indian drug peddlers after receiving the consignment from across the border. The AIG said a trap was laid to nab the two drug peddlers near Kilcha village, following which both of them were arrested when they were coming on their bike. During their search, 500 gm of heroin was recovered from each of them, said AIG Sidhu. OC
