Sitting Khadoor Sahib MP and chief of SAD (Taksali) Ranjit Singh Brahmpura called upon the people to vote in favour of the democratic front candidates in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

He was addressing a public gathering at Baghapurana on Monday.

Brahmpura had earlier called upon all opposition parties to join hands together under the banner of the Punjab Democratic Alliance so as to oust the Congress and the SAD.

He lashed out at SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal, alleging that he had ruined the glorious history of the Akali Dal by using Akal Takht and other Sikh institutions for vested political interests.

“The Sikh community cannot forgive the Badal family on the issues of granting pardon to Dera Sacha Sauda chief, sacrilege of religious books and killings of two Sikh youths at Behbal Kalan,” he said.

He also lashed out at Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for “running away from his promises made before the last Assembly elections”.

“The Chief Minister and Badal are two sides of the same coin,” he alleged. “Amarinder is now shielding the members of the Badal family and former DGP Sumedh Saini in the Behbal Kalan police firing incident. The government must arrest former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Sukhbir and Saini,” he demanded. Party leaders Rattan Singh Ajnala and Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad also addressed the gathering.
