A tenant allegedly shot at his landlord’s nephew in Dashmesh Nagri, Jalalabad, today morning.

The suspect has been identified as Rakesh Kumar, who had been living on rent at the house of Rajinder Kumar since September 25.

Rajinder passed away due to some ailment on October 4. As a result, the deceased’s family members asked Rakesh to vacate the house.

This enraged Rakesh, who shot at Rajan Gaba at the latter’s house with his licensed .32 bore revolver. The victim was rushed to the Jalalabad Civil Hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable.

Jalalabad city police station SHO Lekh Raj Batti said Rakesh has been booked under Section 307 of the IPC. He has been arrested and the revolver has been confiscated.
