Govt releases Rs 65 cr to pay cane dues

Chandigarh: Cooperation Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Tuesday said the state government had released Rs 65 crore to the cooperative sugar mills towards the payment of sugarcane dues to the farmers for 2017-18.



Chandigarh: Cooperation Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Tuesday said the state government had released Rs 65 crore to the cooperative sugar mills towards the payment of sugarcane dues to the farmers for 2017-18. The amount will get credited into the accounts of farmers by Wednesday. He said the cooperative sugar mills were to pay a total of Rs 151.33-crore dues to farmers. The balance Rs 86.33 crore would be released soon, he said. TNS
