The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Prabhjot Singh Kaleka adjourned hearing in the alleged case of Income Tax (IT) evasion against Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh till August 26.

The case was fixed for hearing arguments of the IT Department on the point of summoning. However, the department’s lawyer did not advance any arguments as he was stated to be ill. Similarly, the case involving CM’s son Raninder Singh was also adjourned.

On July 29, the department had concluded the evidence of its officials, namely Amit Dua and Amanpreet Kaur. It also produced certain documents as additional evidence.

In its complaints, the department has alleged that the accused willfully attempted to evade taxes and penalties imposable under the IT Act.
