A-20-year-old student of Lovely Professional University allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of the hostel on the university campus on Saturday morning.

The victim, Soma Venkata Bharath Kumar, was a student of BTech (electronics and communication engineering). He hailed from Andhra Pradesh.

Onkar Singh, SHO, said the boy sent a picture of the suicide note to his friend on his mobile and jumped from building. The friend informed others and they later found his body lying in a pool of blood near the hostel building.

He was taken to the civil hospital by university officials, where he was declared brought dead. In his note, the victim cited depression, living alone and having no one to talk to as the reasons behind his suicide.
