FARIDKOT: A government doctor who had been declared a proclaimed offender (PO) in seven cases was arrested yesterday when he appeared in a local court to depose as a witness in a case.

A government doctor who had been declared a proclaimed offender (PO) in seven cases was arrested yesterday when he appeared in a local court to depose as a witness in a case.

Dr Manjit Singh, presently posted at the Civil Hospital, Fazilka, is facing many cases under the Negotiable Instrument Act. The doctor was declared a PO by the court of Judicial Magistrate Ist Class (JMIC), Faridkot, six months ago.

Before he his posting in Fazilka, Dr Manjit Singh was in Kotkapura town of Faridkot. During his tenure there, he was allegedly involved in several financial disputes. — TNS
