SAD offers to help govt fight menace

CHANDIGARH: The Shiromani Akali Dal has offered “wholehearted constructive support” to the government in fighting the drug menace.

Chandigarh, July 6

The Shiromani Akali Dal has offered “wholehearted constructive support” to the government in fighting the drug menace. In the party’s core committee meeting held here on Friday evening, party members hailed the stand of the party president Sukhbir Singh Badal that the fight against drugs must be fought by rising above petty vested political interests or divisions.

The core committee meeting was chaired by Sukhbir Badal, while party chief patron Parkash Singh Badal was not present. The committee members regretted that the attitude of the ruling party and some other political outfits had ruined the image of the Punjab youth outside the state, making it difficult for them to pursue their professional or academic careers outside the state. — TNS
