Two teen brothers drown in reservoir

Abohar, April 5

Vishwas (16) and his brother Rahul (14) drowned while taking bath in the water reservoir in their family’s field at Chak 3DOL village in Sriganganagar on Friday.

Investigation Officer Amarjit Chawla said the victims were sons of Parvat Kumar Bishnoi. The children were reportedly noticed walking across the field around 11.30 am. It could not be immediately ascertained when they went to the reservoir.

As no other member of the family was present near the reservoir, it was learnt in the afternoon that the teenagers had drowned. Perhaps they were not aware that the reservoir had recently been filled to its capacity, the family said. — OC
