New Delhi, July 21

The Indian women’s hockey team fought valiantly to register a come-from-behind win over hosts USA in their second game of the America tour in Manheim, Pennsylvania, today. Preeti Dubey and Lilima Minz scored as India beat USA 2-1.

USA took the lead four minutes into the second quarter through a Jill Witmer (19th minute) penalty-corner conversion. India came out stronger in the second half and started creating inroads into the US defence. Their efforts bore fruit in the final minute of the third quarter when Dubey converted a penalty corner.

India constantly kept the pressure up and Minz scored from another penalty corner in the 55th minute.
