Railway Ministry Agrees To 14-Hour Duty Limit.

NEW DELHI, July 11 (PTI)-The Railway Ministry has agreed to a 14-hour duty limit for the running staff from the time they sign on to the time they sign off with immediate effect, according to a press note issued here tonight.



NEW DELHI, July 11 (PTI)-The Railway Ministry has agreed to a 14-hour duty limit for the running staff from the time they sign on to the time they sign off with immediate effect, according to a press note issued here tonight. The agreement was arrived at after discussions being held here with the All-India Railwaymen’s Federation and the National Federation of Indian Railwaymen. The staff concerned would be entitled to get relief on completion of 14 hours on duty, the press note said. The Federations were also informed that orders were being issued that all entitled categories of workshop staff would receive incentive bonus on hourly basis calculated on the authorised scales of pay. Discussions on other issues raised by the two Federations were being continued.
