The city railway station today witnessed a chaotic state of affairs as passengers were seen waiting for their trains. However, the trains were getting delayed due to dense fog in numerous parts of the country.
Hundreds of passengers were seen waiting for their trains in such a chilling winter. The passengers have been alleging that they were not getting the accurate information about the trains from the inquiry window.
Speaking to the Jalandhar Tribune, Prithipal Singh Loomba, who have been waiting for Delhi-Pathankot super fast train along with his wife and grandchildren to visit their relative at Gurdaspur for the past three hours, said the train was supposed to reach Jalandhar railway station at 1:45 pm. However, the train did not arrive till 4:00 pm.” He said each time he went to inquire about the train from the inquiry window, he was being provided with information that the train would come in next 30 minutes or one hour.
Raju Kumar along with three other companions was waiting for Jan Sadharan train to reach Bihar. He said he was going to his home after a year. “I do not think I will meet my family any sooner as trains are getting late,” he said, adding that he came here early morning to get Jan Sewa. After reaching at station, he got to know that train was late and he should buy a ticket for Jan Sadharan instead of Jan Sewa.
“Neither Jan Sewa nor Jan Sadharan have reached so far. Jan Sadharan was supposed to be here at 2:00 pm. Yet it has not arrived even at 4:15 pm,” he said.
