The All-Investors Organisation of Punjab and Haryana on Thursday took out a protest march to demand justice for alleged victims of Pearls group.
The march was headed by state president Sadhu Singh and was started from Gol Diggi to the District Administrative Complex.
They submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner, addressed to the state government. They demanded that the victims’ money should be refunded, along with interest otherwise they would gherao houses of ministers of the state government in the coming days.
During the march, the protesters raised slogans against the Central and state government. Leaders Sadhu Singh, Malkit Singh and Gurjant Singh demanded that the state government should built pressure on the Central Government to get the money refunded.
They alleged that every day people were being trapped by chit fund companies in the state and the state government should take strict action against such fraud companies.
The protesters claimed that before the elections, the Congress promised them that it would get their hard-earned money refunded if they vote for the party, but now, after coming to power, the state government has failed to initiate any action on the issue.
They said the Supreme Court had ordered the CBI, SEBI and Lodha Committee to refund the money of the investors, who were duped by the company, between February 2 and August 2, 2016, but despite the order they had not got their money.
