PWD div No. 1 to construct 37 sewa kendras

BATHINDA: The 124 sewa kendras coming up in the district will herald in a new era in the field of governance by providing people services under the Right To Service (RTS) Act.

The 124 sewa kendras coming up in the district will herald in a new era in the field of governance by providing people services under the Right To Service (RTS) Act.

The construction division number 1 of the PWD (B and R) department is constructing 37 of these centres at a cost of Rs 180 lakh.

Disclosing this here today, Deputy Commissioner, Bathinda, Dr Basant Garg, stated that these centres would provide many services under one roof thereby saving valuable time and efforts of people in getting their works done.

He added that a cluster of every three to five villages would get one centre each.

In Bathinda district, he executing agencies for construction of buildings are constructing the Mandi Board, division number 1 PWD and construction division number 2 PWD. The construction division number 1 of the PWD (B and R) department is constructing 37 of these centers at a cost of Rs 180 lakh.

These include 21 type II centres and 16 type III centres of Unified Services Delivery Centres.

The centres under the PWD div number 1 include those at the Community Centre Model Town, Phase 3, Bathinda, Govt Polytechnic College, Bibiwala Road, Bathinda, Urban Community Health Centre Janta Nagar, Govt Elementary School Kothe Kame Ke, disposal near Bikaner bypass Amarpura Basti Bathinda, ESI dispensary Udham Singh Nagar Bathinda, the PSPCL Thermal Office Kheta Singh Basti, Bathinda, ITI at the ITI Chowk Mansa Road, Bathinda, de-addiction centre Sucha Singh Nagar, Bathinda, and urban community health centre, Police Colony Subhash Basti, Bathinda.

Similarly, division number 1 is also constructing centres in Rampura Phul constituency, including seven urban namely Rampura, Phul, Bhagta, Mehraj, Maluka, Bhai Rupa and Kotha Guru. The rural centers are located at Salabatpura, Kothe Pipli, Jalal, Dhipali Khurd, Selbrah, Dialpura Mirza, Bhodipura, Ghanda Banna, Raiya, Burj Gill, Aalike, Burj Ladha, Siryewala, Dialpura Bhaika, Aklia and Gumti Kalan.

In Bhucho assembly constituency, it is constructing four centres in urban areas at Bhucho, Nathana, Goniana and Lehra Mohabbat.
