After winning singing reality show Indian Idol 11, Sunny Hindustani reached the city on Friday to express gratitude to his supporters. Addressing a press conference, Sunny said his happiness knows no bounds at this moment and it cannot be expressed through words.

He said, “Finally, hardships and struggle have paid off. I am extremely happy to see the smile on my mother’s face. I have won Indian Idol due to efforts and support of people of the city and the country. It could not have been possible without the astounding support of the people. So, I express my deepest gratitude for the same.”

Sunny, along with residents, took out a victory march in various parts of the city. He also visited SSD Girls’ College where he received a rousing welcome from the college management, faculty members and students.

While sharing his journey on the reality show, Sunny said, “Hearts of people are as bigger as the show and the platform. People out there take really good care. I have countless memorable moments. I have already started missing them, especially the judges who brought out the best in me.”

On his future ventures, Sunny said, “I have already signed a contract with T-Series. Apart from this, I will perform in three live music concerts in London in March. Besides, there are other offers in pipeline. I will also sing Punjabi songs soon.”

When asked if he has learnt music professionally or he has any guru or master, Sunny said, “I haven’t learnt it professionally. I have listened to songs of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan carefully. He would often explain types of music or singing styles before his renditions. Moreover, I did not have money to learn music professionally. I will provide the required assistance and platform to talented strugglers.”

On being asked if he has to give credit for his success to one person in his life, he said, “It will be definitely my mother. I am a bit busy right now, but I will soon take her to all around the world and give all kinds of comfort and happiness.”

Sunny was a shoeshiner from the city who hogged the limelight after being selected for Indian Idol last year.
