Skyways Group, leaders in the logistics industry, has announced to support the Government of India''s solar vision to generate 100 GW clean energy by 2022.



Skyways Group, leaders in the logistics industry, has announced to support the Government of India's solar vision to generate 100 GW clean energy by 2022. The company's newly installed 22MW solar panels aim to contribute the excess energy to the government's electricity grids annually, making a small contribution to country's growing clean energy demand. This initiative seeks to reduce dependence on the traditional not-so-eco-friendly methods of energy generation.

Hudco chairman advocates use of Hindi in official work

Dr M Ravi Kanth, CMD, Hudco, inaugurated Hindi Pakhwada, being observed by the company from September 13 to 27. He emphasised the need to use Hindi in official work with full dedication and commitment. Several competitions, including recitation, public speaking, kavi sammelan and essay writing, will be organised during the fortnight to promote Hindi language.

Hero partners Yamaha to launch ‘Lectro’ e-cycle

Blood donation camp at DAV Dental College, Yamunanagar

DAV Centenary Dental College, Yamunanagar, organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with Rotary Club on September 13 for patients suffering from thalassemia. A large number of volunteers, including students and staff of the college besides general public, donated blood. College Principal Dr Inder Kumar Pandit and Rotary Club president Sanjay Panjwani inaugurated the camp.

Reliance Jio has widest 4G network, says TRAI

Reliance Jio has the widest 4G network in the country with more than 7.46 lakh 4G base stations, according to TRAI data. The company added 2 lakh subscribers in July in Punjab. Airtel expanded its 4G network more than three-folds since September 2017. Vodafone Idea holds the highest amount of spectrum that can be used for 4G services, around 1.5 times of Reliance Jio, but its 4G network grew only 62%.

NHPC executive director bags ‘Hydro Ratna’ Award

Abhay Kumar Singh, Executive Director (PMSG) of NHPC Limited, has been conferred with 'Hydro Ratna' Award at India Hydro Award 2019, at a function held in New Delhi recently. He has been awarded for his contribution to hydropower and water resources sector in India. The award has been instituted by REPA (Renewable Energy Promotion Association) and ENERTIA foundation.

NFL achieves turnover of Rs 12,245 crore in 2018-19

National Fertilizers Ltd recently held its 45th AGM in New Delhi. Manoj Mishra, C&MD, said the company has declared a dividend of 30.57%. He highlighted the performance of the company during 2018-19 and shared future plans.  The company achieved a turnover of Rs 12,245 crore (increase of 37% over previous year) and a profit of Rs 463 crore, up 38.2% over previous year, during 2018-19.

Daikin launches split air conditioner for Rs 16,400 

Daikin has launched a split air-conditioner indigenously conceptualised and manufactured for Indian consumers priced at Rs 16,400 plus taxes. It consumes less than 3.5 ampere of electricity. KJ Jawa, MD & CEO, Daikin India, said: “We had a vision for ‘Make in India’ product and this AC is designed to serve the needs of every Indian. With this launch, we plan to tap the 93% non-served AC market in India.”

Suriname VP awards degrees at LPU’s 10th convocation

Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, recently organised its 10th annual convocation at Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis. Dr Michael Ashwin Satyandre Adhin, Vice-President of Republic of Suriname, South America, was the chief guest. He was also conferred with "Honoris Causa" doctorate degree.
