The CIA, Mohali, arrested two persons with 7 kg of opium, a country-made pistol, and a white taxi in Kharar.
The suspects have been identified as Jasveer Singh, a resident of Durali village, who works as a labourer, and Ashu Hans, a resident of Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, a taxi driver. The duo has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Arms Act at the Sadar Kharar police station.
The police said the duo used to supply intoxicants to their customers in Mohali, Kharar and Ropar areas.
The suspects were being interrogated to find out the main suspects and arrest them to break the supply chain, the police said. The duo would be produced in a court and their police remand sought, the police said.
