BATHINDA: The Nathana police station SHO, Narinder Kumar, has been transferred to the Police Lines in a case related to an Italy-based Non-Resident Indian (NRI). Bathinda SSP Nanak Singh has taken the action on the directions of the NRI Commission.

Bathinda SSP Nanak Singh has taken the action on the directions of the NRI Commission. It is learnt that a few days back, NRI commissioner had summoned Bathinda SSP and sought a status report of the case. After probing the matter, the SSP ordered the transfer. Complainant Gurvinder Singh of Bhagta village had lodged a complaint with the NRI Commission, in which he had alleged that after staying 15 years in Italy, when he returned to his village, he came to know that his 16-acre land had been sold on forged documents for Rs 1.64 crore. Later, a false case was also registered against him. TNS

Murder case solved in 24 hrs

Muktsar: The Bariwala police on Friday claimed to have solved a murder case within 24 hours by arresting the accused who allegedly killed a 20-year-old boy on Thursday. Mohan Lal, a resident of Sarainaga village, in his complaint told the police that his son Nitin had gone out for some work and was later found murdered by one Gurditt Singh, who allegedly hit him on the head with a brick. Thereafter, the police registered a case and arrested Gurditt. The police said the accused had taken money from the victim. TNS
