The Chandsar Nagar Sewa Society on Sunday took out a protest rally against drugs in the city. The rally was flagged off by DSP Gurjeet Singh Romana and society president Harsukhjinderpal Singh.
This rally was started from Chandsar Basti and passing through 40 feet road, Bibiwala road, Khadar Bhandar wali street and concluded at Chandsar Basti. Society president said that their main motive behind this was to motivate people to shun drugs and eradicate it from society.
Another motorcycle rally against drugs was organized by the Parents’ Right Association on Fire Brigade Chowk. People were carrying placards against drugs on their motorcycles and shouting slogans “Say no to drugs”. It passed from various markets and areas in the city and ended at the fire brigade chowk only.
In the evening, a rally against drugs was organized by a private news channel, in which it was reported that Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers had heated exchanges with each other. AAP leader Deepak Bansal said, “AAP leader raised anti state government slogans in the rally, due to which congress party workers present their opposed this, but they intervene and matter was sorted out.”
