In all, 87 units of blood were donated to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in a blood donation camp organised by the Central Administrative Bar Association, Chandigarh.
The bar association president, Rohit Seth, said the camp was dedicated to Sandeep Singh Mann and Atinder Pal Singh Jaurkian, former AAGs in the AG office, Punjab, who lost their lives at a young age in a car accident recently.
The family members of both advocates joined for the noble cause.
The participants at the camp include Harpreet Singh Brar, secretary, Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana; GBS Dhillon, Additional AG, Punjab; and Rakesh Verma, Senior Deputy AG, Punjab.
The donors comprised advocates, staff members and other volunteers from society. The camp was inaugurated by Sanjeev Kaushik, HoD-cum-member Judicial CAT, along with KK Thakur, bar association vice-president, and Poonam Thakur, JR Syal, secretary, Karan Singla, joint secretary and many others.
The CAT Bar Association also condemned the ghastly and brutal attack on the CRPF convey causing massive loss of lives and prayed for families of those martyred and injured in the shocking incident.
A two minutes silence was observed as a mark of respect and condolence in the Bar room for the CRPF martyrs.
