CHANDIGARH:Amandeep and Harpreet Singh scored a brace each as Hockey Chandigarh registered a 7-2 win over Hockey Himachal 7-2 on the third day of the 9th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2019 (A Division), in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, on Tuesday.

Chandigarh, February 19

Amandeep and Harpreet Singh scored a brace each as Hockey Chandigarh registered a 7-2 win over Hockey Himachal 7-2 on the third day of the 9th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2019 (A Division), in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, on Tuesday.

Hapreet put Chandigarh ahead in the ninth minute and made it 2-0 for the side 16 minutes later. Amandeep struck in the 28th minute and 57th minute.

Yashdeep Goyel (19th), Sukhjeet Singh (38th) and Sukhman Singh (45th) added a goal each to the Chandigarh tally. 

Vashu Dev (40th) and Charanjeet Singh (54th) scored a goal each for Himachal.

Punjab & Sind Bank, meanwhile, lost 0-1 to Hockey Odisha. Skipper Krishna Tirkey scored the only goal of the match in the 23rd minute. 

MP boys thrash Mumbai

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy drubbed The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd 6-1.

Vikas Rajak (4th, 43rd) and Mohammad Alishan (16th, 20th) scored a double each, while Priyobata Talem (10th) and Adarsh Hardua (23rd) struck once each for Madhya Pradesh. Mohit Kathoute pulled off a consolation goal for Mumbai in the 53rd minute. 

Uttar Pradesh Hockey played out a 2-2 draw against Hockey Karnataka in a Pool C match. 

Uttar Pradesh’s lead was cancelled out twice by Hockey Karnataka as Sharda Nand Tiwari (25th) and Shivam Anand (40th) put Uttar Pradesh ahead. Ajith VM (37th) and Sathwik HR (51th) scored for Karnataka. 

In the last match of the day, Hockey Bihar stunned Steel Plant Sports Board 2-1. Sachin Dungdung (34th) and Sanchit Horo (51st) scored for Bihar, while Rajat Minz scored for Steel Plant Sports Board in the 29th minute.
