GS Memorial School, Zirakpur

The school organised its annual prize distribution function. NK Sharma, MLA, Dera Bassi, ex-chief parliamentary secretary, Punjab, was the chief guest. The function began with a welcome song followed by the prize distribution function. Principal Meenakshi Bhalla gave a brief on the school’s annual report. Managing director Paramjit Kaur Sodhi and chairman JS Sodhi gave their blessings to students and motivated them to keep participating in such activities.

DC Montessori School, Mani Majra, organised a farewell for the outgoing Class XII students with enthusiasm. The ceremony started with the welcome of Class XII students, followed by cultural programmes. Adarsh Pandey was adjudged Mr DCM and Anushka bagged the title of Ms DCM. Ritik Grover was awarded the best dressed boy and Arshiya won the best dressed girl title. Best Academics title from the commerce stream was awarded to Rishu Sharma and Best Academics in the science stream was awarded to Dhruv Varma.

Guru Nanak Foundation, Mohali

Guru Nanak Foundation Public School, Mohali, organised a farewell party to bid adieu to the students of Class XII at Indus Valley Resort. The function was interspersed with speeches, games, self-projection rounds, dances and songs. Jashandeep Singh and Simran Kaur were adjudged Mr and Miss GNF, respectively.

Gian Jyotians gathered at the school campus to bid farewell to the outgoing Class XII students. The function started by seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Students of Class XI enthralled the audience with their energetic performances. Kiranjot Kaur was crowned as Ms Gian Jyoti and Adarsh Sharma was selected as Mr Gian Jyoti.

Brilliance World, Panchkula

A workshop on road safety awareness was conducted at Brilliance World School, Sector 12, Panchkula. Students were told about dos and don'ts related to driving. A poster-making competition was also held.

KIDS ‘R’ KIDS, Chandigarh

KIDS ‘R’ KIDS School, Sector 42-C, Chandigarh, organized sporting event ‘Enthusia’ with pomp and show on its campus. Anujit Kaur, DEO, Chandigarh, graced the occasion. The day commenced with a show of colour and energy brought on by pom-pom dance, ball drill and movement exercises with a parachute.

Satluj Public School, Panchkula

Social Studies Department of Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula, has set up its own radio station — Satluj Radio 2.0. The theme of the show was based on examination. Students posed as radio jockey interviewed celebrity topper students. The callers popped several questions to guest celebrities regarding their upcoming examinations. The activity aimed to familiarise students with the importance of radio.

Vidya Valley School, New Sunny Enclave, organised its annual function 'Udaan'. It included a series of thematic performances ranging from devotion to God, patriotism, unity in diversity, parental love, social issues and several others.

Shishu Niketan, Mohali

A lecture on drug de-addiction was delivered at Shishu Niketan, Mohali, by Ramesh Agarwal, president of the Dr Inder Kaur Charitable Trust (regd). Aggarwal briefed the students of Classes IX and XI about the menace of drug addiction. He asked the students not to fall into the trap of drugs. tns
