A person suffered serious injuries after his car rammed into a tractor-trailer from behind on the Zirakpur-Kalka National Highway near Sector 2 here. The victim has been identified as Bhola Singh.
According to the police, the incident took place when the driver of the tractor-trailer suddenly applied breaks and the car driver, who was trying to overtake it, rammed his car into the tractor-trailer. He suffered injuries on the head and face.
After receiving information, a PCR van reached the spot immediately and shifted the injured person to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6 here. The victim was later referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh.
The in-charge of the Sector 21 police chowki said they have not yet received any information about the injured person. They were waiting for the recovery of the victim so that they could record his statement. The tractor-trailer was loaded with shuttering material.
