Road rage: Court frames charges against woman

A local court today framed charges against a 25-year-old woman, Sheetal Sharma, who had allegedly attacked a man following a road rage.

The charges have been framed under Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

On June 25 this year, Sheetal Sharma, a resident of Mohali who was driving a Maruti SX4, was reportedly reversing her car in a rash and negligent manner, while the complainant, Nitish, a resident of Sector 29, was coming from the rear side.

When he asked her to be careful, the girl had an argument with him and then pulled out a rod from her car and hit him repeatedly. Sheetal was arrested and a case under Sections 308, 323, 341 and 506 of the IPC was registered.
