Chandigarh, February 19
The Sector 46 market will get a facelift soon, claimed area councillor Gurpreet Singh Dhillon.
Chandigarh Tribune had on Monday highlighted the problems being faced by traders of the market. Dhiilon said a tender for new paver blocks to be laid in the market would be floated soon. Besides, street lights lying non-functional would be replaced. Major problems that traders have been facing included non-functional street lights, broken railings, dilapidated toilets and lack of sanitation.
Dhillon said as far as blocked sewer lines were concerned, traders would have to take care of it themselves. He said eatery owners throw kitchen waste into sewers, causing blockage. The councillor said two more open-air gyms would be installed in Sector 32 and 46. — TNS
