Four arrested for theft, snatching

PHAGWARA: The police have arrested four persons, involved in two different incidents committed in Phagwara last month.

The police have arrested four persons, involved in two different incidents committed in Phagwara last month.

ASP Phagwara Sandeep Malik informed media persons here on Friday evening that the police have arrested a snatcher, identified as Jagdip Singh, a resident of Mahal village, who snatched a mobile from a woman at Hargobind Nagar.

The ASP said the police have recovered the snatched mobile and arrested Ajitpal Singh, of Muthadda Kalan village, who purchased the mobile. He said the police have arrested two burglars, identified as Manoj Kumar and Pardeep Kumar, both residents of Phagwara.

The accused have confessed to their involvement in burglary committed at Sudhir Gas Agency, Phagwara, last month, adding that the police have recovered Rs 50,000 and two stolen mobiles from their possession. He said more disclosures were expected from the accused. — TNS
