Teachers apprised of pedagogical skills

JALANDHAR: A two-day orientation workshop (October 22 and 23) that was organised for the Central Head Teachers (CHT) of government primary schools at Regional Cooperative Institute of Management, Sector 32, Chandigarh was concluded today by asking central heads to ensure effective implementation of different activities designed under Parho Punjab Parhao Punjab in their respective schools.

A two-day orientation workshop (October 22 and 23) that was organised for the Central Head Teachers (CHT) of government primary schools at Regional Cooperative Institute of Management, Sector 32, Chandigarh was concluded today by asking central heads to ensure effective implementation of different activities designed under Parho Punjab Parhao Punjab in their respective schools.

As many as 79 centre heads from the state attended the workshop, however, in total 1,500 center heads from time to time have participated in such workshops, said an official of the Education Department adding that the programmes had benefitted the teachers and the results of the students were improving in the state.

The CHTs in the two-day orientation programme were apprised of various pedagogical skills by the the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) officials who are overlooking these workshops and their impact on teachers.

The teachers were given practical training of making use of different equipments, alphabets, learning aids, smart boards, among other materials.

Besides, centre heads were also given training about understanding the difference between old and new environment, effective classroom management skills, etc.

The officials who were imparting the skills also took assistance of videos and power point to explain the concepts to teachers.

Education Secretary Krishan Kumar also asked teachers to give more attention to the students who still lagged behind and work for their uplift.

He also encouraged teachers to work towards the quality improvement in education as well mobilise community participation for the development of school infrastructure in order to strengthen the quality improvement and teaching-learning drive.He motivated teachers to make efforts for helping students develop an attitude for learning.
