7-yr-old raped in Rewari; one held

A seven-year-old was on Tuesday allegedly dragged into the fields and raped by her neighbour when she was returning from school.

The police on Wednesday nabbed the accused, Raju (35). According to the police, the girl’s parents, staying in the Khol area here, were migrant labourers who had come to the area a month and a half ago.

On Tuesday afternoon, when the girl was returning from school, the accused met her on the way. He lured her to secluded fields nearby, where he raped her and fled.

The victim, bleeding profusely, reached home, where she confided in her mother. The family and neighbours approached the police and took the girl to a trauma centre.

A raiding team was set up, which caught the accused from his local hideout.

Minor rape victim attempts suicide

Hisar: A minor girl reportedly tried to commit suicide by consuming poison after she was allegedly raped on Monday. The police booked three persons, including a woman, in connection with the rape case. The victim was taken to hospital and her condition was said to be stable.
