Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that the BJP is battle-ready for the General and Assembly elections due next year and the government has fulfilled a majority of its poll promises.

“Yes, we are now in election mode and have started making preparations,” Chief Minister Khattar said here on Monday.

He said, “The government has initiated several schemes and my focus has now shifted to implementation of these schemes.”

Khattar said that he was seeking feedback from public regarding implementation and delivery system during his mass contact programmes in villages and districts.

“The government has also cleared the mess created during 10 years of the previous Congress government,” Khattar said, and added that the Opposition parties were not in a position to challenge the BJP.

Taking a dig at the Haryana Congress, he said, “Its leaders are busy in internal fight for supremacy.”

On BJP’s preparations and poll strategy, he said they would go to the poll on the plank of governance. “Ushering e-governance on a large scale, transparency in administration, especially with regard delivery of services and recruitment in jobs are some far-reaching interventions made by his government,” he said.

He said so far the government had recruited 38,000 persons and another 60,000 more would be recruited soon.

He counted improvement in sex at birth ratio in the state, which was loaded against female, as an achievement of the state government’s “beti bachao, beti padhao” programme. The ratio was a dismal 871 in 2014 when BJP took charge in the state. It has now reached up to 922, and the government intends to push it to up to 950.

He said his model of governance was different from the previous governments. His thrust was on holistic development with focus on sustained uplift that lead society in right direction materially, spiritually and, morally.
