Mahendragarh, July 14

Five Army personnel died after their car hit a tree near the Raghunathpura bypass in Narnaul on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Hajari Lal (56) of Pataudi (Gurugram), Gautam Saini (31) of Narnaul, Hansraj (55) of Sonepat, Jai Bhagwan (45) of Kaithal and Om Prakash (49) of Delhi. They were posted in Delhi Cantonment.

The mishap took place when the five were returning to Delhi from Bapdoli village after attending a function on a child’s birth. They were rushed to a hospital in Narnaul, where they were declared dead.

“The victims’ bodies were handed over to their family members after conducting an autopsy,” said a police official.
