Chandigarh, April 14
A meeting of the high-powered purchase committee chaired by CM Manohar Lal Khattar today approved the purchase of goods and items worth more than Rs 100 crore by various departments.
A total of three agendas, including two of the Education Department and one of the Power Department, were tabled in the meeting.
Sharing the details, Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar said the procurement of personalised and adaptive learning software costing more than Rs 5 crore for Classes IX to XII was approved.
This software will be preloaded in the tablets, which would be provided to the students studying in these classes for a total of 10 subjects, the Education Minister added. “Besides this, the procurement of around 5 lakh SIM cards costing Rs 47 crore with a daily data limit of 2 GB has also been approved. Around 2.5 lakh tablets will be distributed among Class X to XII students in May,” Gujjar added.
“Nod was given to procure supply of 11-m-long PCC poles to meet the requirements of UHBVN and DHBVN costing Rs 48.89 crore.” —
