Protesting staff get employee unions’ backing

KAITHAL: Employees of various unions held a meeting on Sunday in support of the striking Haryana Roadways staff.

Employees of various unions held a meeting on Sunday in support of the striking Haryana Roadways staff. Jarnail Singh, district secretary, SKS, Satyavan of CITU and Ram Pal Sharma of teachers union led the proceedings.

Jaspal Singh, district vice-president, CITU, said they were in support of striking roadways workers and many other employee unions had assured them of support.

They said if the government failed to resolve the issues with the coordination committee of roadways employee unions, they would join the strike.

Amritpal said their district secretary Prem Chand was already in jail with roadways union leaders and they were extending support to the ongoing strike.

They marched in a procession and submitted copies of a memorandum of their demands to local MLA Randeep Singh Surjewala and INLD leader Ram Pal Majra.
