Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia today targeted the BJP government in Haryana and said due to the wrong policies of the BJP, there was resentment among all sections of society.
Addressing a public meeting in support of Sapna Barshami, INLD-SAD candidate from Ladwa, at Pipli grain market, Majithia said: “Haryana is on ventilator under the BJP rule. The party has failed on all fronts. Though its leaders are claiming that all is well, I feel otherwise. Farmers have been committing suicide, youth are jobless and automobile companies are going through a bad phase with drastic fall in sales.”
Though the public meeting was to be addressed by former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, Majithia reached Pipli to support the daughter-in-law of INLD leader Sher Singh Barshami.
Quoting an incident where CM Manohar Lal Khattar had reportedly threatened a party worker with an axe, he said: “While Sapna is seeking the blessings of people, the CM is threatening those who place a crown on his head. He pushes those who approach him to get pictures clicked with him.”
Praising former CM Om Prakash Chautala and Sher Singh Barshami, Majithia said: “I heard Chautala saying that he is ready to go to jail again but will provide jobs to Haryana youth if got back to power. But under the BJP rule, the youth from other states are being given jobs in the state. People don’t have money. Diwali is here but the festive atmosphere is missing due to poor condition of markets.”
Meanwhile, former BJP leader Swami Sandeep Onkar, who is contesting as an Independent from Pehowa, reached the public meeting and extended his support to Sapna Barshami. The INLD-SAD alliance had extended support to Onkar in Pehowa.
