Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has announced 4 per cent interim relief for government employees and pensioners from July this year.
Presiding over the state-level function of Independence Day at Indora on Wednesday, he announced to enhance monthly social security pension of widows of ex-servicemen from Rs 500 to Rs 3,000. He also announced to enhance the existing income limit for getting benefits of different schemes being implemented by the State Sainik Kalyan Department from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 7 lakh. This would benefit about 5,000 ex-servicemen families. He enhanced the existing Rs 1 lakh compensation to Rs 4 lakh for killing of a person by wild animal. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur hoisted the national flag and took salute from the impressive march past by contingents of the state police, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Home Guard jawans, the NCC, Scouts and Guides and NSS cadets. The parade was led by DSP RK Thakur. Extending greetings to the people, he said August 15 was an occasion to remember those freedom fighters who had made supreme sacrifices for the nation.
The Chief Minister said the state government was working with a the motto, “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas”. The government was committed to safety of women and ‘Shakti Button App’ and ‘Gudiya Helpline-1515’ had been started for their safety.
He said ‘Chief Minister Dashboard’ had been started for online review and monitoring of the progress of various schemes and projects.
Hhe announced a mini secretariat and upgrade of the Community Health Centre.
Uniforms for over 9 lakh schoolkids
The state government on Wednesday announced two sets of smart uniforms each to more than 9 lakh students of state-run schools.
