The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education has fixed June 8 for conducting Class XII geography examination. The board has also set up 303 examination centres for about 4,400 students, including SOS (State Open School) students.
The date was fixed after the guidelines for Lockdown 5.0 were announced.
Students, who had gone home before the lockdown was first announced, have the choice to appear in the nearest examination centre with prescribed norms such as sanitisation, social distancing and wearing masks to be strictly adhered to, said the chairman of the Board, Suresh Soni.
However, the exams for subjects of computer science, yoga and vocational subjects will not be conducted and marks will be given objectively on the basis of marks obtained in the compulsory subjects.
“Meanwhile, the evaluation of Class X board examinations is almost complete and results are likely to be declared in the second week of June. Normally, Class XII results are declared first, but this time, Class X results will be declared earlier than Class XII,” Soni added.
The evaluation of Class X and XII examination started in the first week of May. As many as 6,000 teachers were given answer sheets to be checked at home and were asked to return the papers within 10 days.
