Dharamsala, October 16

Minister for Health Vipin Parmar, in charge of campaigning of the ruling party for the Dharamsala byelection, today alleged that the Congress had dishonoured the voters of Dharamsala Assembly constituency by suggesting that they were taking money for votes.

Parmar said the Congress should tender an unconditional apology for leveling such allegations or else the people of Dharamsala would answer Congress leaders suitably on October 21, the day of voting.

Parmar was reacting to Congress allegations that Vipin Parmar was distributing money in Dharamsala circuit house on the night of October 14. The Congress had yesterday released a video in which their workers were protesting and raising slogans in the circuit house alleging that money was being distributed by the health minister. The Congress also filed a complaint in the matter with the police and the Election Commission of India.

Parmar had trashed the Congress allegations and claimed that he had gone to have a cup of tea in the circuit house.

In a statement issued here today, Parmar alleged that the Congress leaders were resorting to negative campaigning during the Dharamsala byelection. The Congress was a divided house. He also alleged that the Congress had ruled over the country for about 60 years and everybody knows that the party had a history of corruption.

Meanwhile, state president of BJP Satpal Satti, who campaigned in the constituency, today urged the voters to vote for party candidate Vishal Nehria. He said that since there was a BJP government at the Centre and in the state, only the party candidate can usher in development in the area.
