With AAP recently demanding a probe over the alleged corruption charges against a bureaucrat, fear has gripped many officers. As AAP is vying to become a key player, the party is likely to take on many netas and babus for their alleged involvement in shady deals and favours granted in violations of norms. AAP is all set to make many more disclosures close to the Assembly poll later this year. The BJP and the Congress, which often would remain silent as part of an unwritten understanding, are equally fearful in the changed scenario.
Novel way to protest
Sporting black ribbons to work places, pen-down strikes, etc are among the conventional ways government employees use to convey their displeasure to the government. Recently, the Himachal Power Engineers’ Association used a method that had probably never been used before. Upset with the management, the association asked all its members to quit the WhatsApp groups being used by the management for communication. Doesn’t sound like a good idea of protest, does it?
Cong action missing
While AAP has intensified its campaign in Kangra, many senior Congress leaders are missing, much to the annoyance of ground workers. The workers are alleging that the way Congress leaders are missing from the ground level, we are not sure of our role in coming Assembly elections.
