Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, addressing a press conference held at Dharamsala on Saturday morning, said Himachal economy due the COVID-19 pandemic had been estimated a loss of about Rs 30,000 crores.
He added that during the first quarter of the financial year 2020-21, Himachal had suffered a revenue loss of Rs 1,300 crore.
“The Union Government had provided state Rs 950 crores has revenue deficit grant that has helped Himachal tide over the crises due to revenue loss. The Union Government was also providing Rs 300 crore as its share in central taxes on time. It has not imposed any cut in share of the state in Central taxes,” Jai Ram Thakur said.
Himachal was among the few states that had not imposed any cut on salaries, social security pensions and other benefits to people, the CM added.
the CM said efforts were being made to put state economy on track.
