Shimla, June 30

The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has decided to resume operation of its lift, connecting Mall Road with Cart Road.

The operations were stopped in March due to the lockdown.

The lift will start functioning again from July 1, but with 50 per cent capacity to ensure social distancing.

“The corporation will follow all precautions to prevent any chances of infection. The staff members operating the lift have been provided face shields, gloves and sanitisers for their protection. The sanitisers will also remain available at entry and exit points for use by the general public,” said Kumad Singh, Managing Director, HPTDC.

She added that the sanitisation of the lifts will be carried out at regular interval. The body temperature of all passengers will be checked at the entrance.
