In a plantation drive in Chamba district, Prerana - the Inspiration, an NGO, has planted 250 saplings of deodar plants in the remote Jassourgarh area of Churah subdivision.

NGO president Deepak Bhatia said their NGO activists and local people planted these saplings in coordination with the Forest Department.

Bhatia said during the summer, some miscreants had set fire to the forests which had caused destruction to fauna, flora and avifauna. He urged people to help in saving the forest wealth from fires.

Bhatia said the plantation campaign would continue in the district.
